Overview
The DM-TI300 measures surface temperature without touching the target, which is the only practical option for moving webs, rotating rollers, molten material and anything inside a sealed process. The 8-14 µm spectral band suits most non-metallic surfaces and avoids the short-wavelength interference from daylight and hot ambient air.
Emissivity is adjustable from 0.10 to 1.00, and the response time can be set between 100 ms and 10 s to average out a moving target. Outputs are 4-20 mA and RS485 Modbus, with a laser sighting beam for alignment and a through-lens or fixed-focus optic depending on the working distance.
Key features
- 0-1,200 °C range, 8-14 µm spectral response
- Distance-to-spot ratio 20:1 with laser sighting
- Adjustable emissivity 0.10-1.00 and response time 100 ms-10 s
- 4-20 mA and RS485 Modbus RTU outputs
- Stainless housing with air purge collar for dusty environments
- IP65 with water cooling jacket option for ambient above 70 °C
Typical applications
- Film and sheet extrusion temperature
- Preform and bottle blowing temperature
- Sealing bar and laminating roller temperature
- Molten metal and glass surface temperature
Getting a trustworthy reading
Non-contact measurement is an optical measurement. Spot size at the working distance must be smaller than the target, the sighting must avoid background heat sources, and the emissivity must match the material. Expect to verify the reading against a contact probe once during commissioning, then treat that emissivity value as part of the recipe.
