Pressure is the most frequently measured variable on a production line, and it is also the one that fails most often when the sensing element does not match the process. DuoMy builds three families of pressure instruments around the same 316L stainless steel sensing capsule, so a differential transmitter on a filter skid and a gauge transmitter on a hydraulic power unit behave the same way when the temperature swings.
Our standard transmitters output 4-20 mA with optional HART 7 digital overlay, which means they drop into an existing PLC analogue card without new wiring while still allowing remote range configuration. Units that will be washed down carry IP68 or IP69K sealing; units that will sit in a Zone 1 area are available with ATEX and IECEx certification on the same mechanical footprint.
For OEM customers we modify the pressure port, electrical connector, cable length and measuring range at the factory rather than through adapters. That keeps the bill of materials short, removes a leak path, and lets your assembly line receive a sensor that is already correct out of the box.
Range Overview
Pressure Sensors variants
Each variant exists because a different application needs it. The distinction is usually mechanical or environmental rather than a better accuracy figure.
Gauge Pressure Transmitters
0.1% FSVented gauge reference for pumps, hydraulics and compressed air. Ranges from 0-1 bar to 0-1,000 bar with 0.1% to 0.5% FS accuracy.
Absolute Pressure Transmitters
10 mbar absSealed vacuum reference for vacuum chambers, distillation columns and altitude-compensated measurement.
Differential Pressure Transmitters
0.075% FSTwo-port capsule for filter monitoring, flow across an orifice plate and cleanroom pressure cascades. Static line pressure up to 160 bar.
Pressure Switches
SPDT / PNPMechanical and solid-state switching for interlock and alarm duty, with adjustable set point and fixed hysteresis.
Sanitary Pressure Sensors
3-A / EHEDGClamp and tri-clamp connections, Ra 0.4 µm surface finish and 3-A compliant materials for food and pharmaceutical contact.

Applications
Where this family is used
Hydraulic and pneumatic power units
Continuous line pressure monitoring with fast response for pump protection and pressure-drop alarms.
Filter and strainer monitoring
Differential transmitters detect clogging before flow drops, so maintenance is planned instead of reactive.
Cleanroom and building pressure
Low-range differential sensors hold room-to-room pressure cascades in pharmaceutical and semiconductor facilities.
Process piping and reactor vessels
Sanitary and ATEX versions cover food contact, sterile and hazardous-area installation on the same platform.
Selection Guide
How to specify correctly
-
1
Start with the reference type
Gauge for line pressure, absolute for vacuum work, differential for filters and flow. Choosing the wrong reference is the most common specification error we see.
-
2
Size the range above the working point
Aim for 60-80% of rated range at normal operation. This leaves headroom for pressure spikes without sacrificing resolution.
-
3
Match the wetted material to the media
316L covers water, air, oil and most neutral media. Chlorides, seawater and certain acids need Hastelloy or titanium.
-
4
Confirm the electrical interface early
Two-wire 4-20 mA is universal; if you need digital configuration, specify HART or IO-Link before the housing is fixed.
-
5
Check the certification path
Ex ia needs an intrinsic safety barrier in the loop. If your panel already has one, order the Ex ia variant and save the rework.

Pressure Sensors questions
What is the difference between gauge and absolute pressure sensors?
A gauge sensor measures pressure relative to the local atmosphere through a vented reference, so its reading changes with weather and altitude. An absolute sensor measures against a sealed vacuum and does not change. Use absolute for vacuum systems and anything where barometric drift would corrupt the reading.
Can I use a differential transmitter to measure flow?
Yes. A differential transmitter across an orifice plate, Venturi or averaging pitot gives the pressure drop, and flow follows the square root relationship defined in ISO 5167. We supply the transmitter, the root extraction is done in the PLC or in our signal conditioner.
How often should pressure sensors be recalibrated?
In clean service, every 12 months is typical. In abrasive, high-temperature or cycling service, every 6 months. Every DuoMy transmitter ships with a serialised factory certificate that references NIST-traceable standards, so your quality system has a starting point.
Do you offer ATEX versions with the same process connection?
Yes. The Ex ia and Ex d variants share the mechanical envelope of the standard transmitter, including the process thread and electrical connector, so a hazardous-area project does not need different piping or brackets.
What is your minimum order for a custom pressure range?
One piece for a sample, 50 pieces for a modified range with your part number lasered on the housing. Lead time for a custom range is 3-4 weeks after drawing approval.
