Overview
The DM-FE150 measures flow from outside the pipe. Two transducers clamp onto the pipe wall, send an acoustic pulse diagonally through the liquid and back, and calculate flow from the transit-time difference in both directions. Nothing enters the process, so there is no pressure drop, no leak path and no shutdown to install it.
The controller accepts pipe outside diameter, wall thickness, material and lining, then calculates the transducer spacing itself. A mounting rail with a scale fixes the spacing and keeps it stable, and the supplied wall-thickness gauge removes the second-largest source of field error after straight run.
Key features
- DN15 to DN600, ±1% of reading in calibrated conditions
- Bidirectional measurement, totaliser and batch functions
- 4-20 mA, pulse, relay and RS485 Modbus outputs
- Clamp-on installation with mounting rail and wall-thickness gauge
- Data logging for up to 60 days at 1-minute intervals
- Battery or 24 VDC powered versions
Typical applications
- Flow verification and energy allocation on existing mains
- Chilled and hot water loop balancing
- Temporary flow surveys and leak detection
- Process cooling water in semiconductor and data centre facilities
Installation requirements
Allow ten pipe diameters upstream and five downstream, keep the transducers on the side of a horizontal pipe rather than the top, and make sure the pipe is full. Clamp-on meters fail predictably when the pipe is partially full or when a liner separates the transducer from the liquid.
