Overview
The DM-FT80 is a small-line turbine meter for clean, low-viscosity liquids: fuels, solvents, water, glycol and light oils. A free-running rotor turns in proportion to flow, and a Hall-effect sensor picks up the blade passage without contact, so there is no wear element in the signal path and the pulse output drops straight into a totaliser or PLC counter.
The body is 316L stainless with a tungsten carbide shaft and a sapphire bearing on the standard version, which keeps the calibration stable in clean service. Each meter is wet-calibrated, and the K factor is marked on the body and stored in the electronics where a display version is fitted.
Key features
- ±0.5% of reading over the calibrated range, 10:1 turndown
- 1/2″ to 2″ line sizes, BSP or NPT connections
- Tungsten carbide shaft and sapphire bearing
- Pulse, 4-20 mA and local totaliser options
- Wet-calibrated with the K factor marked on the housing
- -20 to +120 °C media temperature, 40 bar rating
Typical applications
- Diesel, kerosene and lubricant dispensing
- Coolant and glycol filling on assembly lines
- Chemical dosing and batch totalising
- Test rig fuel consumption measurement
Application limits
A turbine meter needs clean liquid. Grit, fibres or crystallising media will wear or seize the rotor, and the calibration will drift without any alarm. If the media is not clean, use an electromagnetic or clamp-on ultrasonic meter instead, even at a higher cost.
