Overview
The DM-PS500 is a mechanical pressure switch for interlock and alarm duty where a continuous analogue signal is not needed. A stainless diaphragm acts on a snap-action microswitch, so the contact changes state decisively at the set point with no chatter at the threshold, which matters when the switch drives a contactor or a PLC input.
The set point is adjusted by a screw under the protective cap and the differential is fixed at 15% of the set point. The body is stainless steel with a G1/4 process connection and an IP67 housing, and the electrical connection is a DIN 43650 valve connector that keeps the terminal block sealed.
Key features
- Adjustable set point 0.5-10 bar, fixed hysteresis 15% of set point
- SPDT snap-action contact rated 5 A at 250 VAC
- Stainless steel body and diaphragm, G1/4 process connection
- DIN 43650 connector with IP67 protection
- No supply voltage required, suitable for pure interlock circuits
- Repeatability within 2% of set point over 100,000 cycles
Typical applications
- Pump start and stop on pressure
- Compressor low-pressure and high-pressure interlock
- Filter clogging alarm
- Machine guard and pneumatic clamp confirmation
When to use a switch instead of a transmitter
If the control system only needs a discrete signal at a threshold, a mechanical switch removes the analogue input card, the scaling and the calibration interval. If the threshold will change with product or season, a transmitter with a configurable set point is the better long-term choice.
