Overview
The DM-PX12 is the workhorse of the range: an M12 barrel sensor in a 304 stainless housing, flush mountable, with a 4 mm sensing distance on mild steel. The oscillator, output stage and protection circuitry are potted into the barrel, so vibration and moisture have nothing to work loose.
The IP69K rating applies to the sensor and its connector together, which is why the M12 connector version is specified for washdown areas rather than a cable tail with a gland. Output is PNP normally open, with NPN and two-wire versions available in the same housing.
Key features
- 4 mm flush sensing distance on mild steel, 2 mm on stainless
- PNP NO output, 200 mA, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protected
- IP69K with an IP69K cordset fitted
- 1 kHz switching frequency, 10-30 VDC supply
- 304 stainless barrel, -25 to +70 °C ambient
- LED indication visible from three sides
Typical applications
- Clamp, slide and end-stop position on machine tools
- Part presence on conveyors and transfer stations
- Gripper and tool-changer confirmation
- Door and guard position on washdown equipment
Mounting note
Flush mountable sensors can be embedded in metal without a free zone, but leave at least one sensing distance between two adjacent sensors to avoid mutual interference. On aluminium or stainless targets, expect the sensing distance to fall by 30-50% and specify an extended-range model if the gap is tight.
