DM-SC04 4-Channel Isolating Signal Conditioner

Overview

The DM-SC04 puts four isolated channels into a 22.5 mm DIN-rail module. Each channel accepts 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, RTD, thermocouple or potentiometer input and produces a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V output, with 1,500 VAC isolation between input, output and supply.

The practical value is in retrofits. When a panel picks up noise from a new variable frequency drive, or when a sensor in another building creates an earth loop, adding an isolating conditioner at the panel boundary fixes the signal without touching the sensor, the cable route or the PLC card.

Wiring note

Isolation removes the conductive path, but it does not fix a bad shield termination. Bond the cable shield at one end only, keep the shield continuous through junction boxes, and separate signal cable from drive output cable by at least 200 mm in the duct.
